AlgoLab LLC operates Scoreboard for Android. This Privacy Policy explains how the app handles information when you keep score, save match history, view ads, use analytics-supported features, share results, or contact us for support.

Scoreboard is designed as a local-first scorekeeper. It does not require an AlgoLab account and does not use an AlgoLab backend to store your match data.

Information Stored in the App

Scoreboard stores match and preference data on your Android device so the app can work across sessions. This may include team or player names you enter, scores, timers, match templates, match results, saved history, notes, display settings, theme preference, language preference, font-size preference, and recently used match defaults.

This information is used to provide app features such as live scoring, undo and redo, saved history, result sharing, display preferences, and local backup/export. Local match data is not sent to AlgoLab LLC servers.

Analytics

The Android app uses Google Firebase Analytics to help us understand whether the app works reliably and which features are useful. Analytics events may include screen views, quick-start taps, new-match starts, match-finish events, saved-match events, history opens, share actions, theme changes, language changes, ad visibility, match template names, timer flags, and broad buckets such as duration, score total, or number of score actions.

We do not intentionally send raw team names, player names, notes, or full match history to Firebase Analytics. Google may process device identifiers, app instance identifiers, advertising identifiers, IP-derived coarse location, app interaction data, diagnostics, and other technical data as part of Firebase Analytics and Google Play services.

Advertising

The Android app uses Google AdMob / Google Mobile Ads to show banner ads, currently outside live scoring. To deliver, limit, measure, improve, and protect ads, Google may collect or receive information such as your IP address, advertising ID, app and device information, ad interactions, diagnostics, and related identifiers. Ads may be personalized or non-personalized depending on your device settings, Google settings, and applicable consent requirements.

The app declares Android's advertising ID permission because Google Mobile Ads may use the Android Advertising ID. You can review or reset advertising ID settings through your Android or Google settings where available.

Permissions

The app uses internet access for Google advertising, analytics, and related Google Play services. The app also declares the Android Advertising ID permission for ads. The current Android version does not request location, camera, microphone, contacts, calendar, phone, SMS, or photo library permissions.

Android Backup and Device Transfer

Android backup or device transfer features may copy app databases and preferences according to your Android and Google account settings. This may include saved match history and app settings. These features are provided by Android, Google, or your device manufacturer, not by an AlgoLab backend.

Sharing and Export

The app lets you share or export match results as text and lets you share a generated result image through the Android share sheet. Sharing only happens when you choose to share. Once you select another app or service, that app or service handles the shared content under its own terms and privacy policy.

When you share an image, the app may create a temporary image file in the app cache and grant temporary access to the app you choose for sharing.

No AlgoLab Account or Purchases

The current Android version of Scoreboard does not require an AlgoLab account, does not use in-app purchases or subscriptions, and does not send your match history to an AlgoLab backend for storage.

Support Communications

If you contact us for support, we may process the information you voluntarily provide, such as your email address, device details, Android version, app version, screenshots, and the content of your message. We use this information to respond to your request, troubleshoot issues, and improve the app.

Service Providers

We rely on service providers only as needed to operate, distribute, measure, advertise, and support the app and this policy page. This may include Google for Play distribution, Google Mobile Ads, Firebase Analytics, Google Play services, Android backup or device transfer features, Cloudflare for hosting this policy page, and email providers for support communications.

We do not sell your personal information.

Data Retention and Deletion

Local app data remains on your device until you delete it in the app where supported, clear app data, or uninstall the app. Data copied through Android backup or device transfer may remain according to your Android, Google account, or device settings.

Analytics, advertising, and diagnostic data handled by Google is retained according to Google's policies and settings. Support emails are retained only as long as reasonably necessary to respond to your request, maintain records, resolve disputes, comply with legal obligations, and improve support.

Children's Privacy

Scoreboard is not designed to collect personal information from children through an AlgoLab account or backend service. If you believe a child has sent us personal information through support, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

International Processing

AlgoLab LLC is based in the United States. Support communications, website operations, analytics, advertising, and service-provider operations may be processed in the United States or other countries where we or our providers operate. Data protection laws in those places may differ from the laws where you live.

Security

We use reasonable safeguards for our support systems and public web pages. For local data, security also depends on your device passcode, Android security settings, Google account settings, backup settings, and platform protections. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when the app changes or when we need to clarify how information is handled. When we update the policy, we will change the "Last updated" date above.
